works well, but does not perform as well as other class 10. you get what you pay for.
So far this has worked pretty well. I got some guy on video that almost caused an accident by what I consider wreckless driving and uploaded the video to my PC. The video is amazingly clear and I could even read the license plate. I burned a dvd and went to the police station and showed it to them but of course they weren’t interested in doing anything. Anyway, I’m happy with it.
I’ve had enough funny things happen to me when I was driving, so I thought to myself, “Self, why shouldn’t I have a dash camera”?
So look – here’s the deal with this camera. It does what it says and the quality of the video is good. It has plenty of features and options (maybe more than enough). The controls are a little tricky to master but in a few minutes you can get the basics down.
Now – Here’s why you SHOULD buy this if you are looking at others:
The customer service is literally as good as it gets.
I had a few questions and one small problem with the unit I received. I shot off an email expecting a canned response a few days later.
I didn’t get that. I got an email addressing each of my concerns specifically and asking specific questions about the problem I was having.
Turns out the unit I had indeed had a small defect that kept it from operating 100% properly all of the time.
They did not treat me like I was crazy and they didn’t make me do a bunch of stupid time-wasting crap to absolve themselves of any responsibility for the problem.
After just a couple emails, they sent me a new unit with a prepaid label for the old.
I’ve received several follow up emails from them and many sent responding to me even in the middle of the night when I am up doing emails.
The new unit works perfect.
When shopping for a dash cam, I was impressed by the number of reviews that mentioned customer service – which is a big reason why I bought this one. I could not agree more.
KDLinks scores a big win for the most helpful, knowledgeable, and speedy customer service.
Unfortunately I think there are too many companies out there that would benefit from looking at this company’s customer support model. Amen.
I did a ton of research before buying a dashcam. I wanted one that used the Ambarella chipset since it seemed to perform better at night and I wanted one that had a 170 degree FOV and a min resolution of 720p. The GPS and G/shock sensor was a must also. After researching for close to a week I chose this kit. It has everything I wanted, a mount, install kit AND a 32GB class 10 card. The video is crystal clear and it has the option to record audio if you want. I like it on so if someone does something stupid I can read the tag number out loud and have a record of it but you can turn it off if you sing terribly alone in the car. If someone bumps your truck it does detect shock and it will also lock video files if it detects a crash or impact. The menu takes a bit of getting used to. The UX is very basic and you can tell it was written by engineers so you are going to have to play around with it. Get in the habit of formatting the microSD card once a month and replace the card once a year.
GREAT GREAT It’s a great camera to have in your truck because in life today HEY YOU NEVER KNOW. Once you have it in your truck you will wonder why you didn’t get this years ago like i did. the ability to take a picture if you have to is there. And the video is always working in case something happens. DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT. Also to note Great Customer Service
I really like this camera. It performs its function without me having to do much of anything. One thing for improvement would be the menu system and buttons, sometimes they don’t seem to do what I am intending.
